Foreign Minister heads Gulf delegation to GCC-EU Ministerial Meeting

New York, September 22 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, headed the GCC delegation to attend the joint ministerial meeting of the GCC foreign ministers. The delegation of the European Union is headed by Josep Borrell, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 76th United Nations General Assembly meetings, was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed. Al-Sabah, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf, and representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the GCC countries and the European Union and enhance bilateral relations at various levels, stressing the importance of intensifying cooperation, and reviewing political, economic and security cooperation, in addition to other areas that would strengthen the historical relations between the two sides.
