Foreign Minister attends GCC meeting with Egypt

Manama, December 12 (BNA) Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani attended the meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council with Egypt in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The session was chaired by the Saudi Foreign Minister, Chairman of the current Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.

The two sides reviewed the strong brotherly relations between the GCC countries and Egypt and ways to enhance them at all levels.

They also stressed the importance of unifying positions and enhancing joint coordination between the two sides, in addition to supporting peace efforts to serve the interests of all the peoples of the region.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed that the security of the GCC countries is crucial for the Arab Republic of Egypt, noting the need to intensify coordination between the two sides in a way that supports and enhances security and stability in the region.

He also expressed his confidence in the success of the Gulf summit, which will be held in Riyadh next Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
