Food Festival attracted 175,234 visitors

Manama, April 3 / BNA / The sixth edition of the Bahrain Food Festival attracted 175,234 guests, including more than 100,000 guests in the second week, compared to 75 thousand in the first week.

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) said that during the 16-day festival, nearly 200 activities and performances were received by attendees.

This year’s food festival saw the participation of 120 restaurants, an increase of 32% over the 2020 edition.

The “Cooking Corner”, which featured several well-known Bahraini chefs preparing and cooking various cuisines in front of the audience in a unique interactive environment, was a highlight of this year’s food festival.

This edition also featured a wide range of exciting events and activities including Bahraini artists who presented a variety of musical and artistic works, in addition to lottery prizes also held throughout the event in cooperation with hotels and restaurants across Bahrain.

In this regard, Dr. Nasser Qaidi, CEO of BTEA said: “We, along with our partners, are very proud of the success of the Bahrain Food Festival, whether in terms of the number of visitors, related events, or participating restaurants.”

“This success is undoubtedly the result of extensive preparation and promotion of the event, as well as extensive marketing campaigns locally and regionally.”

He added, “We are pleased to receive more than 175,000 Bahrainis, residents and tourists, including individuals and families, which doubles our duty in the coming years to build on our achievements and achieve better performance rates.”

He said that the festival has become a major attraction for visitors from outside Bahrain, as it contributes to the comprehensive development of the tourism industry and achieves the objectives of Bahrain’s tourism strategy 2022-2026.
