Five-time World Champion Raymond Van Barneveld and rising star Luke Humphries added to stellar line up for Bahrain Darts Masters

Manama, Dec. 13 (BNA): World champion and multiple darts legend, Raymond van Barneveld, will return to the world arena at the inaugural Bahrain Darts Championship next January, making him the latest addition to the distinguished line-up for the event. It was also announced today that rising star and world number five, Luke Humphreys, will make his debut at the World Darts Championship in Bahrain.

The 16-player field will compete in the World Darts Championship at the Bahrain International Circuit on January 12-13, where eight PDC stars will face off against eight Asian representatives.

BIC and CBX have teamed up with the PDC to bring the World Darts Championship to Bahrain for the first time, in partnership with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, with BIC’s Dome Tent hosting the two-day event. World champions Peter Wright, Jeroen Price and Rob Cross will also compete in Bahrain, along with reigning Grand Slam of Darts champion Michael Smith and two-time world champion Dimitri van den Berg.

Five-time world champion Van Barneveld will celebrate his return to the World Darts Championship stage, where the Dutch legend last appeared in 2019 before his short-lived retirement.

Shooting star Humphreys will also make his international debut at the World Darts Championship, marking his rise to fifth place on the PDC Order of Merit during an impressive 2022 tournament on the track.

The eight Asian representatives will feature two qualifiers from Bahrain who will win by knockout, which will take place on December 17 and 18. The final PDC representative will be confirmed in due course.
