First multi-storey car park to open on Sunday in Muharraq

Manama, May 7 (BNA) The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities will open tomorrow, Sunday, the first multi-storey car park on the Pearl Road in Muharraq.

Three more multi-storey parks on the Pearl Trail are expected to be completed during the period from late 2022 and early 2023.

The structures were designed by architect Christian Kerez in collaboration with Arsinals Engineering Design. The project was awarded to the main contractor, Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi & Sons.

The Pearling Path has become the second iconic relic to enter the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, after the Bahrain Fort.

The project aims to provide parking for the city’s residents and visitors alike for the Pearl Track site, and to enhance the infrastructure of Muharraq City.
The multi-storey car parks are designed to serve as public spaces, with their aesthetic open spaces adding new and attractive features to the old town.

Each floor in the new parking lot has a different shape and design, with cars passing at different heights and slopes, giving each floor a special character that is easily recognizable.
