Financial Intelligence Directorate takes part in a workshop

Manama, March 15 (BNA) The Financial Intelligence Department at the Ministry of Interior participated in a workshop entitled “Anti-Money Laundering in the Twenty-first Century” hosted by the US Department of Justice in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The event attracted 100 representatives from stakeholders in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The Director of Financial Intelligence stressed the importance of the workshop, which reviews the new threats and challenges related to money laundering, in enhancing the efficiency of security authorities in combating these crimes.

She highlighted the efforts and dedication of the Ministry of Interior in combating money laundering and terrorist financing by developing plans and techniques to confront the latest regional and international developments. She stressed the importance of continuous cooperation by all concerned authorities to eradicate these crimes.
