Finance Minister chairs Bahrain’s delegation at GCC meeting

Riyadh, October 3 (BNA) Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the 117th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee and the joint meeting of finance ministers and governors. Central banks in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

The meeting is taking place In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council.

The 117th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee dealt with ways of enhancing joint cooperation and reviewing the topics on the meeting’s agenda.

The meeting also shed light on developments related to studies and projects pursued by the Office of Economic Affairs and Development. He also highlighted the developments of the program to achieve economic unity among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council by 2025.

The Minister of Finance and National Economy also participated in the joint meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries with the Director General of the International Monetary Fund. The discussions focused on the latest developments in the global and regional economy, and a number of related topics.

In addition, the Minister of Finance and National Economy participated in the high-level event organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund, which was held under the theme “We work together to tackle food insecurity.” The event was held on the sidelines of the joint meetings held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in the presence of finance ministers and central bank governors in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the international, Islamic and Arab financial institutions of the Arab Coordination Group.

During the ceremony, the latest developments related to food security were discussed, as well as ways to enhance cooperation and joint work between the various international financial institutions.
