Finance Minister addresses WBG’s committee on behalf of Arab Group, Maldives

Washington, April 13 (BNA): Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa delivered a statement before the Development Committee of the World Bank Group on behalf of the Arab Group and the Maldives represented by Bahrain. On the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.

The minister stressed the importance of international cooperation to deal with global economic developments.

He stressed the importance of developing plans, strategies and programs that help economic development and contribute to alleviating and enhancing these challenges.

Sheikh Salman stressed the importance of exchanging experiences, developing effective and innovative solutions, and accelerating work within the sustainable development goals to maximize the use of available financial resources and meet the development needs of a variety of countries.

The minister congratulated the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Mohammed bin Hadi Al-Husseini, on the UAE’s presidency of the Development Committee of the World Bank Group at its current session.

He praised the efforts of the World Bank Group in supporting sustainable development and enhancing cooperation to face global challenges and achieve economic development.
