Manama, December 12 (BNA) The Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received the Executive Director of the World Bank, Dr. Mirza Hassan.
He praised the role of the World Bank in supporting countries to mitigate the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID), and urged international cooperation to confront the repercussions of the pandemic.
He praised the Bank’s critical role in supporting sustainable development programs around the world and supporting countries to promote financial stability and stimulate growth.
He said that Bahrain is on the right track to achieve economic recovery, highlighting the government’s efforts to protect society from health risks by launching a stimulus package worth 4.5 billion dinars to support the most affected sectors and protect citizens’ jobs through the fiscal balance program. .
The minister referred to the efforts made by the Bahrain team to achieve development goals and maintain financial stability.
He said that Bahrain has achieved encouraging results within the framework of the economic recovery plan, praising the national efforts to combat the epidemic.
The two sides reviewed many topics of common interest and discussed developments in global economic recovery.
