Ferrari’s Leclerc leads 1st session of last day of F1 tests

Manama on February 25 (BNA): Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc set the fastest time ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell in the first session of the third and final day of Formula 1 testing on Saturday.

Leclerc completed 67 laps and was 42 seconds faster on the soft tires than Russell, who did 83 laps on the media. Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton will replace Russell in the W14 in the afternoon.

With Lance Stroll still sidelined with a wrist injury sustained in a bike crash, Aston Martin once again used F2 champion Felipe Dragovic and was third fastest – around a second behind Leclerc, AP reports.

Sergio Perez took over from two-time world champion Max Verstappen at Red Bull and was the fourth fastest midfielder.
