Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram suffer worldwide outage

Washington, Oct. 4 (US): Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp platforms fell across large swathes of the world on Monday.

Facebook’s internal systems used by employees have also been down, the AP reports.

The company said it was aware that “some people were having trouble accessing (the) Facebook app” and was working to restore access.

Regarding the internal failure, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, tweeted that it sounds like a “snowy day.”

The company did not say the reason for the outage, which began around 11:45 a.m. ET.

It’s normal for websites and apps to experience outages, although outages on a global scale are rare. Users reported not being able to access Facebook in California, New York, and Europe.
