the opportunity

EY’s rapid innovation practice supports audits across the MENA region both remotely and through travel to MENA offices.

Your main responsibilities

As a Manager, you will manage the delivery of audit engagements by defining and implementing the audit strategy in consultation with the Principal/Partner in accordance with Ernst & Young policies and protocols. When required, you will personally perform complex audit procedures and lead teams or parts of teams in engagements, depending on the size of the engagement. You will also help manage the financial aspects of the engagements by regulating recruitment, tracking fees, informing project leaders as well as participating in business development initiatives.

You will actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships and assure that the work provided to clients is of high quality.
As part of this, you will anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues, as appropriate.
As an influential team member, you will help create a positive learning culture and you will coach, advise and help emerging team members develop through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring.
You will also contribute to people initiatives including recruitment, retention and training of Assurance professionals and contribute to maintaining an educational program to continually develop the personal skills of employees.

To qualify for this role, you must have

– Strong academic record, including degree
Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA
– At least five years of professional experience in the field of external audit
Thorough knowledge of current audit techniques and experience in managing teams
4 . Experience with a large accounting firm
Experience in a risk-based audit process
Understand current and upcoming applicable International Financial Reporting Standards
Knowledge of using audit tools and data analysis tools
Experience in counseling, mentoring and counseling
– Fluent in English communication skills
Effective presentation skills

Ideally, you will also have

– Proficiency in the Arabic language
Experience in the financial services or oil and gas sector
