Manama, May 7 (BNA): A joint executive legislative meeting was held today to discuss a draft law approving the state’s general budget for the fiscal years 2023-2024 attached to Decree No. (34) of 2023.
The session was co-chaired by Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Shura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh and Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
In his speech before the session, the Speaker of Parliament indicated that the legislative authority gives full priority to improving the standard of living of citizens, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He renewed the commitment of the legislative authority in the government to fulfill the royal directives to improve the standard of living of citizens and improve development programs to meet the basic needs of Bahrainis.

Al-Saleh said that the executive legislative agreement regarding the details of the state’s draft general budget embodies the directives of His Majesty the King and deepens consultations with the government headed by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He pointed to the continuation of the discussion on constructive proposals with the government, which reflects the joint commitment to support initiatives and plans aimed at enhancing financial and economic stability in Bahrain and reaching financial balance.
