Executive, legislative branches hold third joint meeting

Manama, Jan. 5 (BNA): Today, the executive and legislative branches reached a consensus on the priorities of the government’s program amendments.

This came during the third joint meeting, which included the parliamentary committee charged with studying the government’s program and the government team.

The session was chaired by Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Labor Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, Minister of Parliament Ghanim bin Fadl Al-Buainain, Minister of Legal Affairs Youssef bin Abdullah Khalaf, and Minister of Health Dr. Jalila bint Al-Sayed. Jawad Hassan, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Nawwaf bin Muhammad Al-Maawda, and Minister of Kavinite Affairs, Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives highlighted the agreement on priorities aimed at improving the standard of living of citizens, stressing the keenness of the House of Representatives and the government to meet needs and achieve national aspirations and goals in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He praised the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in supporting joint cooperation and achievements that benefit the country and citizens.

He pointed out that Bahraini citizens will always remain the focus of development and the pillar of national action, in order to create all opportunities and harness all potentials for the good and future of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of enhancing joint work between the executive and legislative authorities and building on coordination that contributes to achieving the goals of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He said that citizens represent the ultimate goal of all development projects, plans and initiatives, stressing the government’s keenness to support joint cooperation with the legislative authority to move from the stage of recovery to the stage of sustainable growth.
