Manama, Jan. 9 (BNA): Electricity and Water Authority Chairman, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, announced the launch of a new system for customer services and billing in early February. The new system is part of the Authority’s comprehensive development strategy, and focuses on advancing the digital transformation in the Authority in order to enhance the quality of services provided to customers.
The head of the Electricity and Water Authority confirmed that the new system is comprehensive and takes advantage of the latest technologies used to ensure optimal service provision. Turning to the advantages of the new system, Kamal bin Ahmed explained that facilitating electricity and water services will be more efficient, and that the billing formula, and the information it displays, will be more clear. He also added that billing processes will be further improved to ensure greater transparency and accuracy.
To ensure a successful launch, the head of the Electricity and Water Authority explained that more than 1,000 employees of the authority and related authorities have undergone extensive training programs on the new system. In addition, all logistical requirements necessary to ensure efficient transportation of operations have been secured to the set standards. In this regard, the authority worked closely with a number of stakeholders, including banks and government agencies, to ensure a smooth and seamless launch of the new system.
The head of the Electricity and Water Authority confirmed that the launch of the new system comes after a series of development projects implemented by the authority with the aim of providing an integrated, modern and smart system. This included developing the infrastructure for the transmission and distribution of electricity and water, starting a project to install digital meters, and working on a project to establish a new control center for electricity and water networks, to ensure an advanced and strong electricity and water sector.
