Emil Ruusuvuori earns upsets win in Washington

Washington, Aug. 4 (BNA): Finn Emil Rossovoori was unserved en route to a 6-4 7-6(3) victory over second-seeded Polish Hubert Hurkacz on Wednesday in the second round of the City Open. Washington.

The top three ranked players won the game on Wednesday in Los Cabos, Mexico, all in second-round matches.


Canadian second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime won 6-3 7-5 over Mexican wild card Alex Hernandez. Serbian fourth seed Miomir Kikmanovic beat Australian Jordan Thompson 6-4 6-2 while American sixth seed Brandon Nakashima beat Australian Max Purcell 6-3, 6-3.


Russian top seed Daniil Medvedev, third seed Cameron Norrie of Great Britain and Australian seventh seed Tanase Kokinakis are scheduled to play later on Wednesday night.
