Electricity Minister reviews renewable energy plans with UNDP representative

Manama, June 13 (BNA) Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak received the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Bahrain Firas Gharaibeh.



The meeting reviewed plans and projects for renewable energy and energy efficiency.



The two sides discussed the existing cooperation with the United Nations Development Program in what has been achieved and the positive dimensions and outputs that have been represented in multiple achievements in the field of renewable energy, based on the interests and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.



They highlighted the government’s interest in diversifying and sustaining energy sources, and raising Bahrain’s position in this field among countries that are making great qualitative efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.



The minister praised the tireless efforts of the United Nations Development Program and its keenness to support Bahrain’s goals and efforts in global leadership in the transition to renewable energy.




The representative praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the important role of the Ministry in achieving energy sustainability goals.
