Education Minister receives delegation from Boston University

Manama, Jan. 8 (BNA): Minister of Education, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Juma, received today a delegation from Boston University, headed by the Dean of the College of Education and Human Development, Prof. David J. Shard, and a number of senior officials.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary for Policies, Strategies and Performance, Nawal Ibrahim Al-Khater, and Acting Dean of the Bahrain Teachers College, Dr. Lucy Bailey.

The minister welcomed the delegation that is currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between Boston University and the Bahrain Teachers College.

Under the agreement, the Master’s Program in Educational Leadership was launched to attract students from inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Dr. Jumaa discussed with the delegation the outputs of joint academic cooperation and ways to support the successful partnership between the two sides.

He also gave an overview of education in the Kingdom, focusing on the establishment of the Bahrain Teachers College, which plays a pivotal role in the formation of qualified teachers.

He also highlighted the BTC board’s procedures for obtaining international accreditation from the USA.
