Education Minister opens international conference

Manama, Nov. 29 (BNA): The Third International Education Conference opened today at the Diplomat Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Juma, inaugurated the conference, which will be held this year under the slogan “Innovative Education in a Changing Era”.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, Abd al-Rahman bin Muhammad al-Asimi, and the head of the Arab Center for Educational Research in the Gulf States, Dr. Suleiman Ibrahim al-Askari.

Costanza Farina, Director of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in the Arab States in Beirut, officials, experts and specialists in the field of education from several countries.

The Kuwait-based Arab Center for Educational Research in the Gulf States organizes the two events, which include penal discussions and workshops focusing on the reality of education, current challenges and future requirements.

In the opening session, Dr. Juma stressed the importance of promoting innovative education and developing learning methodologies to enhance creativity and integrate twenty-first century skills.

He thanked the Arab Center for Educational Research in the Gulf States for organizing the conference to discuss the main issues and challenges for building modern and advanced education, and for exchanging visions, experiences and successful practices.

He appreciated the center’s role in studying the educational reality in the Gulf countries, and developing educational policies in line with the latest educational trends in the world.

Dr. Al-Asimi praised Bahrain’s support for the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), stressing the importance of the conference, which is taking place at a time when the world is recovering from the pandemic that left its effects on education.

Dr. Al-Askari highlighted the crucial role of digital technology in developing education and teaching curricula, stressing the importance of making optimal use of advanced digital technologies in enhancing the level of learning.

Farina also spoke at the conference, stressing the importance of topics aimed at discussing the reality of education in the region and harmonizing educational policies to serve the goals of sustainable development.
