Education Minister meets UNESCO specialists

Manama, May 29 (BNA) The Minister of Education, Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, met with the President of UNESCO for Youth, Literacy and Skills Development, Herve Haute Marchand, and Education Specialist in Global Early Childhood Programs, Ruqayya Dewara.

The meeting discussed cooperation between UNESCO, technical and vocational education, early childhood, and the ministry’s mechanism through providing consultations on the draft unified regulatory framework for early childhood and consultation with the aim of increasing participation in early childhood education.


The two sides reviewed technical and vocational education in terms of academic and training courses, and reviewed the latest global experiences in this field and how to link education to the post-secondary stage in light of labor market developments.

The UNESCO specialized team expressed its readiness to exchange experiences in the field of technical and vocational education through its centers such as (UNECOV) and to coordinate with centers of excellence for vocational education in Bahrain.
