Education Minister honours Arab Reading Challenge winners

Manama, June 19 (BNA) Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi visited Al-Ahed Al-Zahir Secondary School for Girls today, which won the Distinguished School Award in the sixth edition of the Arab Reading Challenge. Bahrain branch.

In a statement, the minister stressed that the large participation of Bahraini schools and students in the Arab Reading Challenge embodies the strong Bahraini-Emirati relations in various fields, including education.

He stressed that the outstanding results of Bahraini schools in the Arab reading challenge since its inception are a fruitful outcome of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Dr. Al Nuaimi praised the international initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The minister indicated that the Kingdom will continue to achieve outstanding results in the Arab reading challenge in the upcoming sessions.

Director of Al-Ahed Al-Zaher Secondary School for Girls, Nour Munir Al-Ghannam Al-Subaie, said that the support of the Ministry of Education contributed to the school’s success in winning the first prize.

She noted that Al-Ahed Al-Zaher Secondary School for Girls implemented several reading projects, which made it perform well during the international competition.

Then Dr. Al-Nuaimi honored the school’s faculty members and a number of its affiliates. He also honored the student Hanan Al-Shihabi for winning second place out of 142 thousand participants from Bahraini schools, in addition to the two students Zainab Abbas and Batoul Al-Nashaba for their good performance during the competition.
