Education Minister calls for new ideas to protect right to quality education

New York, September 21 (BNA) The Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, participated in the Leaders Day activities for the third day of the Educational Transformation Summit.

The session included discussions on education in times of crisis, digital transformation in education, the promotion of gender equality in education, and education financing.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres gave a speech about the inability of 70% of 10-year-olds in poor countries to get an education like their peers in developed countries. He called for the adoption of new plans and mechanisms to protect the right to quality education, in order to ensure peace, security and sustainable development throughout the world.

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, stressed that the organization worked with Member States to ensure the right to education for all, and called for the development of educational systems to meet the requirements of the twenty-first session.

The minister affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to ensure the provision of free primary education, develop education through the use of technology, and prepare schools to accommodate all students, including those with special needs.
