Earthquake hits Mexico City, no immediate reports of damage


MEXICO CITY DECEMBER 12 (BNA): An earthquake struck southwestern Mexico, causing tremors in parts of the capital, but there were no immediate reports of damage.

The USGS said the 6.0-magnitude quake occurred 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) west-northwest of El Teque in Guerrero state at a depth of 19.8 kilometers (12.3 miles), Reuters reported.

Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum said on Twitter that the city’s flyover had no reports of damage.
