Dr. Al Qahtani: 100,000 Omicron cases; 14 deaths since January 2022

Manama, February 3 (BNA) Lt. Col. Dr. Manaf Al-Qahtani, Infectious Diseases Consultant and Microbiologist at Bahrain Defense Force Hospital and member of the National Medical Task Force to Combat COVID-19.

Lieutenant-Colonel Dr. Al-Qahtani caused the death of 787 people out of 112,000 positive cases due to the emergence of the delta variable last year.

He confirmed the success of the national campaign for immunization in achieving its goals, which contributed to raising the immune response for all age groups, as it took two doses and the stimulant stab.

He pointed out that vaccination against the Corona virus has proven effective in reducing the incidence of complications for existing cases, and thus reducing rates of admission to hospitals, intensive care and deaths.

He stressed the continuation of Bahrain’s efforts to combat the virus as part of the national vaccination campaign to protect the health and safety of citizens and residents.

Dr. Al-Qahtani said: “It is important to focus at the current stage on the number of existing cases whose health condition requires hospitalization or admission to intensive care.”
