Developed Pfizer-BioNTech booster dose urged

Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): A Bahraini official at the Ministry of Health urged citizens and residents to continue taking vaccinations against COVID-19, its new mutations, and active doses.

Dr. Basma Mahmoud Al-Saffar, public health consultant and epidemiologist at the Ministry of Health, affirmed the commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to provide the developed vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech) against the virus and its new variants.

She said, “The developed Pfizer-Biontech vaccine will be given as a booster dose with the aim of enhancing prevention and providing protection against the virus and its complications.”

Al-Saffar, head of the immunization group at the Disease Control Department in Public Health, stressed the importance of taking the booster dose of the developed (Pfizer-BioNTech) vaccine to protect people’s health from complications.

And she urged the community, especially the target groups who did not complete the booster doses or who did not receive the vaccination, to take the necessary doses and complete the booster vaccinations.

Dr. Al-Saffar also urged people suffering from weak immunity and chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, respiratory diseases, cancerous tumors, and those suffering from obesity and other immunodeficiency diseases, to take the developed and anti-vaccination vaccinations, in order to protect them and those around them from infection with the virus and its complications.
