Derasat 6th annual forum to focus on women’s role in policy making, research

Manama, May 24 (BNA): The Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women, announced that the Sixth Annual Studies Forum under the title “Women’s Role in Policies – Making, Think Tanks, and Research” will be held on June 14-15. .

The forum will discuss the advanced role of women in research and thinking thanks to their initiatives, results and challenges they face. It will also highlight current and future initiatives to support the role of women in think tanks.

Hala Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, commended the efforts of Studies, headed by Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, in research work, and involvement in pressing topics and issues.

Al-Ansari wished success to this year’s forum, which focuses on the role of women as contributors to policy-making and research centers.

She thanked Derasat for providing this platform to present women’s contributions in this field and other disciplines, and to highlight Bahrain’s advanced position in gender balance and equity.

Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Derasat, said that the topic of the upcoming forum is in line with the center’s vision to promote sustainable development and constructive cooperation with national, regional and international partners.

He stressed the importance of the forum in highlighting the contribution of Bahraini women and the GCC countries at the local, regional and international levels.

He referred to the role of the Supreme Council for Women in promoting the Bahraini model in the advancement and empowerment of women and gender balance.
