Havana, Sept. 28 (BNA): Cuba’s power grid collapsed late Tuesday night, knocking out power to the entire country shortly after Hurricane Ian swept through the island’s western tip with violent winds and flooding.
A malfunction in the national electricity system, partly related to the storm, has affected the infrastructure, Reuters reported, citing state-run media, Lazaro Guerra, technical director of the Electricity Union of Cuba.
Guerra said the union would work through the night and early Wednesday morning to regain power.
