Manama, Dec. 4 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, received today Michelle Herzog, wife of the President of the State of Israel. .
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka highlighted the effective role of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in maintaining security and peace in the region so that its people can enjoy prosperity and stability.
She affirmed the Supreme Council for Women’s keenness for all women around the world to play a greater role in global trends related to peace, security and sustainable development.
She pointed out that Mrs. Herzog’s visit comes amid annual celebrations on the occasion of Bahraini Women’s Day, in honor of Bahraini women for their dedication and contributions to the bright future of their country.
And she highlighted the Council’s direction to document and preserve this process so that it gains greater momentum through national participatory efforts that enable women to move from the stage of empowerment to the stage of progress, and placed Bahrain among the developed countries.
Herzog was briefed on the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women, the general plans, programs and initiatives it implements, the awards it offers, and its efforts to be a national center of expertise in women’s affairs.
She praised the steps Bahrain has achieved in the field of women’s advancement, praising the Council’s efforts, led by His Royal Highness, which won wide international recognition in light of the advanced results of Bahraini women’s participation, especially at the level of countries in the region.
