Manama, Dec. 4 (BNA): The Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a concert at the Bahrain National Theater next Sunday evening. The orchestra, led by its founder Maestro Dr. Mubarak, celebrates the tenth anniversary of the theatre.
The concert will be part of Bahrain’s national holiday celebrations.
The orchestra will play the pieces “Scheherazade” by Rimsky-Karsakoff, the music for the ballets “Swan Lake” by Tchaikovsky, “Carmen” by Bizet and other famous pieces. The concert also features solo performances by international flutist Liselotte Boqueta from the Czech Republic, British trombonist John Millgate and promising Bahraini violinist Aseel Al Jabal.
The orchestra, which includes Bahraini qanun player Mohammed Asiri and flutist Ayman Barjas, will present a wonderful selection of Bahraini and Gulf melodies. Concert tickets are sold at Virgin Megastores in the City Center complex, or through the store’s website.
