College of Engineering hosts graduation ceremony

Manama, Jan. 22 (BNA): The College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain hosted a graduation ceremony for a batch of 2,976 graduates who completed their studies.


This came as part of the University of Bahrain’s 24th graduation ceremony, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


The batch of 57 Postgraduates, 810 Architecture and Interior Design graduates, 360 Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduates, 505 Chemical Engineering graduates, 720 Civil Engineering graduates, and 524 Mechanical Engineering graduates.


Speaking at the ceremony, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Sheikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, urged the graduates to pursue their postgraduate studies.


The ceremony was attended by Minister of Transport and Communications Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, Vice-Presidents and members of the Board of Trustees of the University of Bahrain. The university holds 20 celebrations for its graduates during the period from January 19 to 29, on the basis of two events per day.


The College of Engineering, which was founded in 1968, was called the Gulf Technical College. Its name was changed to the Gulf College of Technology, and then the College of Engineering after the establishment of the University of Bahrain in the year 1986.
