Civil Defence extinguishes warehouse fire in Sitra

Manama, Jan. 8 (BNA): The General Directorate of Civil Defense put out a fire in a warehouse in Sitra with 17 vehicles and 59 personnel. A fire broke out on Saturday evening in a sports equipment store and lumber store. The cooling system started shortly after the fires were extinguished.

The Director General, Brigadier General Ali Al-Hattai, said that the operations room received the case at 11:12 p.m. Teams rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby factories. Much of the warehouse was damaged, and a nearby warehouse belonging to another company sustained minor damage. There were no reports of injuries. The National Ambulance, Rescue and the Capital Police Directorate were at the scene to secure the surrounding areas. He said the investigation is continuing to find out the cause of the fire.
