London, December 5 (BUS): Chelsea won the FA Women’s FA Cup on Sunday to achieve their first domestic treble.
Australian striker Sam Kerr scored a brace in the second half to lead Chelsea to a 3-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley in the final of a competition postponed due to the Corona virus pandemic. Fran Kirby gave Chelsea the lead in the third minute.
Chelsea also won the Women’s Premier League title last season and the League Cup.
The match took place exactly 100 years ago, since the FA banned women from playing football in league-related stadiums because it deemed it “unsuitable” for them to play the game. The ban lasted nearly 50 years.
