BTEA, Japanese officials discuss ways to broaden Bahrain-japan tourism cooperation

Tokyo, May 10 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is keen to increase its presence in Japan, the third largest economy in the world with a volume of more than 4 trillion and one of the most innovative and productive countries. In the world, in order to attract more Japanese tourists and increase Japanese investments in the hotel and hospitality sector in the Kingdom.

This step is based on the priorities of the Bahrain Authority for Tourism and National Heritage represented in highlighting Bahrain’s position as a global tourism center, attracting more new tourists to the Kingdom and diversifying the tourism product.

The authority participated in the visit of a high-ranking Bahraini economic delegation to Tokyo headed by Minister of Industry and Trade Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro and Minister of Sustainable Development Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif.

On the sidelines of the visit, the CEO of the authority, Dr. Nasser Qaidi, held a series of meetings with senior Japanese officials in the sectors of tourism, hospitality, entertainment, industry and trade, and discussed with them ways to expand joint cooperation in this field. The field of tourism and pumping more Japanese tourism investments into the Bahraini market.

He stressed that the Bahraini-Japanese tourism cooperation is heading towards further growth thanks to the deep-rooted bilateral relations that will enhance the role of the tourism sector as a major tributary to the national economy.

Kaidi held meetings with the head of the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), officials of the Japan Tourism Agency, and representatives of world-famous Japanese industrial companies and hospitality establishments, and explored with them opportunities to increase the number of Japanese tourists to Bahrain.

He also met with managers of famous Japanese hotels and restaurants, and discussed with them the possibility of opening branches in Bahrain and investing in new projects there.

The BTEA President also met with Japanese jewelers and institutions. He invited them to visit the Kingdom and participate in many exhibitions and events such as the annual Arabian Jewels Exhibition, in addition to getting acquainted with world-famous Bahraini gold and jewellery.

During the meeting with Japanese officials and investors. Dr. Qaidi highlighted the goals and characteristics of Bahrain’s tourism strategy 2022-2026, which aims to double the contribution of the tourism sector to the Kingdom’s GDP and attract more tourists from all over the world, especially East Asia.

The President and Representative Director of COLOWIDE Co., Ltd., Kohei Nojiri, highly appreciated the meeting with the CEO of BTEA, expressing his desire to open a branch of the Gyu-Kaku BBQ chain in Bahrain.

Representatives of jejwellery companies in Tokyo also confirmed that they are looking forward to participating actively in Jewelery Arabia this year.

Qaidi expressed his happiness with the desire of many prestigious Japanese hotel and hospitality establishments to expand in the Kingdom and open new branches for them in Bahrain, which proves the Kingdom’s position as a distinguished tourist destination in the region and its strategic location in the heart of the Kingdom. The Arabian Gulf.

He stressed that Bahrain is proud of many unique tourism elements that qualify it to attract more tourists from the Asian continent, especially from Japan, citing the diverse tourism product in the Kingdom that includes elements of entertainment, family and sports, as well as exhibitions and conferences.

He praised the exceptional tourism potential of Japan, with its ancient civilization and the diversity of its tourist attractions, which make it a leading Asian destination in this field.

The Bahraini entrepreneurs participating in the Bahraini delegation confirmed the success of the official visit, pointing out that Japan is an ideal destination for tourism investments.
