BRCS to promote collaboration in relief, humanitarian aid field

Manama, Nov. 21 (BNA): The Bahrain Red Crescent Society held a meeting hosted by the President of the Jordan Red Crescent Society, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hadid, and a number of guests working in the relief and humanitarian field from outside Bahrain.


The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, Mubarak Al-Hadi, and the Board of Directors, Dr. Fawzi Amin and Dr. Maryam Al-Hajri.


The meeting discussed strengthening efforts to coordinate the participation of the parties to the agreement in humanitarian and charitable activities to benefit those affected by natural disasters and wars and those in need of relief and humanitarian assistance in the region and the world. In addition to providing services and social assistance, training and qualifying volunteers, and contributing to the dissemination of international humanitarian law, and other fields.


Participants discussed enhancing cooperation in the field of community, charitable and educational activities for the benefit of individuals and communities locally, regionally and globally. Through the exchange of faculty members and students, conducting collaborative research projects, holding lectures, organizing seminars, exchanging information and academic materials, building capacities in the field of reaching those in need, and providing them with integrated, qualitative and rapid support.


The meeting followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI-Bahrain), the Jordan Red Crescent Society and the Child Life Operations Foundation, to expand partnerships between humanitarian and relief aid. and medical stakeholders, optimizing the diverse experiences that complement each other.
