Brace for Kane as Tottenham beats Everton 5-0 in EPL

London, March 8 (BUS): Tottenham remained in the race for the top four in the Premier League after their 5-0 victory over relegation-threatened Everton.

Spurs have not been consistent in recent weeks, but he showed his best, after Michael Kane’s own goal put them in front early, causing riots. Harry Kane scored two goals, Son Heung-min and Sergio Reguilon also scored.

It was another Kane experience, with his second goal particularly special, taking his tally to 14 goals in 15 games against Everton, the Associated Press reports.

This has been a poor performance as the Toffees have had this season and there has been no rebound under Frank Lampard, with a fourth loss in five league games since taking charge.

There is no doubt that they are embroiled in the relegation battle as they are one point ahead of 18th-placed Burnley, even though they have a game in hand.

Spurs equaled their best-ever Premier League win at Tottenham Hotspur, and he will have a real belief that they can break into the Champions League places.

Although Antonio Conte’s men are still seventh, they are three points behind Arsenal and are firmly in the running ahead of a tough visit to Manchester United next week.

The problem is that you never know what you will get with Tottenham in recent weeks after beating Manchester City with embarrassing defeats at Burnley and Middlesbrough.

But it was clear from early on that this was going to be a good night as they took control of the game early on.

They took the lead in the 14th minute as Ryan Sessegnon was released from the left flanked by Kane, who netted his second own goal in three games at Tottenham Hotspur.

Three minutes later, Ken found Dejan Kulusevsky, who played in Sun. The South Korean was grateful to see a weak shot interfered through the body of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Matt Doherty made a brilliant first-time pass to Kane, who scrambled across the goal and finished clinically past England teammate Pickford in the 37th minute with a 3-0 score.

The break did not stop Spurs’ momentum. Only 41 seconds into the second half the score was 4-0.

Son passed to Kulusevsky and the Swede secured a second assist by cutting back to Reguilon, who scored with his first touch after coming in in the first half.

Spurs showed no mercy, and moments after Eric Dier hit the crossbar, Kane made the fifth goal of the night.

It was a great ball over the top by Doherty to get off Kane, who found the bottom corner with a superb shot for the first time.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest hosts Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals after coming back from behind to defeat their rival Huddersfield 2-1 at the City Ground.

Forrest, who defeated Arsenal and Leicester in the previous two rounds, advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time in 26 years and their first meeting since 1999 with Liverpool, which will visit a week on Sunday.
