Bodies of 3 missing kids, woman found in Minnesota lake

Minnesota July 3 (BUS): The bodies of three children and a woman believed to be their mother have been recovered from Lake Minnesota, and authorities say the deaths are being investigated as three murders and a suicide.

Meanwhile, the children’s father’s body was found in a different location hours ago. The names were not revealed until noon on Saturday. The Associated Press reported that the children, all under five, were boys and a girl

The chain of events began Friday morning when the man’s body was found in a mobile home park in Maplewood Township, near Minneapolis. The police determined that the woman left with the children, and began a search.

Maplewood Police Lt. Joe Steiner said the woman’s car was found near Lake Vadnais at around 4 p.m. Friday. Children’s shoes are found on the beach.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office said the body of the first child was recovered from the lake around 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The body of the second child was found shortly after midnight. The woman’s body was found around 10:40 a.m. Saturday, and the third child’s body was found around 11 a.m.

The bodies were taken to an examining doctor.

“The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating this incident as a possible triple suicide murder,” a press release said.

“There is nothing more tragic than the loss of young children,” Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher said at a news conference Friday.
