Manama, July 6 (BNA): His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, received the Bahrain national basketball team at Bahrain International Airport.
The national team returned to the Kingdom of Bahrain after participating in the 2023 Basketball World Cup qualifiers, which was held in Kazakhstan.
The Bahrain Olympic Committee organized the reception today in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Faris Al-Kooheji, the President of the Bahrain Basketball Association Waleed Al-Alawi, and SCYS Advisor Mohammed Al-Ajmi.
His Highness Sheikh Issa bin Ali praised the national team, which made history after reaching the final stage of the 2023 Basketball World Cup qualifiers and being ranked among the 12 best teams in Asia.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the royal patronage of sports in Bahrain, and the follow-up of His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He also praised the support of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Council, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the International Olympic Committee.
