In response to the increasing demand for high quality Architectural and Engineering services in the late 1970s, Al Sharq Engineering Consultants (ECEC) was established in 1979 by Eng. Ahmed Abdel Karim, who graduated from the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran. In light of the overwhelming presence of Western advisors and pioneers of Saudi Arabia, the beginning was full of adventure and challenge. However, the spirit and vision of the founder appropriately aligned with the initial challenges and led the company to a firm and well-established position in the architectural and engineering consultancy business. During the past years the company achieved excellent growth and turned into multidisciplinary engineering consultants. The company now employs more than 500 employees and operates from its head office in Riyadh. The company’s services have been utilized by various ministries of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, industrial groups, commercial establishments and citizens from the private sector. ECEC is equipped with the latest data processing and data communication networks. Design engineering and drawing development are carried out with the help of computers using the latest original software. This enables the company to limit the error factor to a minimum, if not nothing. This also facilitates safe and reliable archiving and quick and easy access to any archived work.
