BIC welcomes WEC participants ahead of Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain this weekend in Sakhir

Manama, October 27 (BNA) The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Bahrain International Circuit began welcoming the FIA ​​drivers, teams and officials before the start of Bapco 6 hours in Bahrain.

Participants in the event will come from all over the world to attend the first-ever WEC dual tournament which will be held in the ‘Home of Motorsports in the Middle East’ in Sakhir.

The Bapco 6 Hours of Bahrain is the fifth and penultimate round of the 2021 WEC season. It will be the first consecutive WEC races in the Kingdom to finish this championship. It will be followed by the weekend of November 5 and 6 season finale, Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain.

Guests of the Kingdom were assisted upon their arrival at Bahrain International Airport by members of the Welcome and Welcome Team at the Bahrain Information Centre.

Several of them went straight to work at the BIC to begin their final preparations for this weekend’s race, which kicks off on Thursday (Editor’s note: October 28) with Free Practice 1 to be held behind closed doors.

Fridays and Saturdays (Editor’s note: October 29 and 30) will be open to the public, with two more runs followed by Friday’s qualification. That will set the stage for the grueling six-hour race on Saturday, starting at 11am and finishing at 5pm.

All races will take place along the 5.4112-kilometre Grand Prix circuit.

Ahead of the Sakhir Show, the World Economic Council has held events across some of Europe’s best trails, with 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium in May, 8 Hours of Portimão in Portugal in June, 6 Hours of Monza in Italy in July and the 24 Hours of The world famous Le Mans in France in August.
