BIC launches F1 2022: a once in a generation event in world motorsport

Manama, January 17 / BNA / The Bahrain International Circuit revealed, this evening, the details of the Bahrain Grand Prix for Formula 1 for Gulf Air 2022, which will be held once in a generation for the masses. An astounding array of on- and off-track attractions have been announced for the race weekend that takes place from 18-20 March in Sakhir as the first ‘new era’ race in Formula 1.

The 18th edition of the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix was launched at a special press conference held today at the Bahrain Information Center media center, which included the unveiling of the new 2022 F1 car in the distinctive Bahraini color.

He addressed the media and guests, Director of the Commercial Center Sharif Al Mahdi and Director of Gulf Air Marketing Mohammed Jamsheer, in the presence of Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, CEO of the Bahrain International Circuit and Acting Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air Captain Waleed Al Alawi.

This included the announcement of Grammy Award-winning Afrojack DJ and producer as the first major concert of the weekend.

Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, CEO of the Bahrain International Circuit, said: “The 2022 race is a historic moment for the sport. Conveniently held under our motto ‘A New Era’, the race will start in the next chapter of Formula 1 following the biggest revolution in rules in the history of the sport.

“The new seasons come on the heels of the epic championship battle we had last season, where the whole world is still talking about Formula One. In addition to the excitement on the right track, we have put together a mix of amazing concerts and entertainment, suitable for fans of all ages.
