BIC kicks off 2021/2022 season with first round of National Race Day on Friday in Sakhir

Manama, September 29 (BNA) The Bahrain International Circuit kicks off on Friday October 1st, another exciting season of national racing, featuring the best local talent in fully assembled motorsports in the Kingdom.

Heading the first round of National Race Day will be the 2021/2022 BIC 2000cc Challenge – the longest-running and most famous track racing championship in the region.

This series first hit the tarmac at the “home of motorsports of the East” as part of the 2007/2008 season. The challenge follows simple regulations, but it is very fun to watch and very competitive.

The participating drivers fall into two classes, including the Pro and the Novice, and race in a variety of cars with 2-liter engines.

This weekend’s events will take place along the 2,550-kilometre long Bahrain International Circuit as a nightly event under the circuit’s state-of-the-art floodlights.

A 30-minute workout will take place at 5.35 p.m., followed by a qualification, also of 30-plus minutes, starting at 6.45 p.m. Round one of the two 12-lap races will then be stopped at 8.03pm, setting the stage for the reverse grid for race two, scheduled to start at 9.23pm. The coronation ceremonies will take place after each enemy.

The event will be open to the public with comprehensive measures in place to ensure that all attendees enjoy the excitement in a safe environment. Tickets are available at the gate at a price of 2 BD for adults and 1 BD for children from 3 to 12 years old.

A network of 11 participants is currently lined up for the first round.
