BIBF hosts closing ceremony of Professional Award in Digital Transformation Programme for Ahli United Bank

Manama, November 9 (BNA) The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Financial Studies held the closing ceremony for Ahli United Bank employees who successfully completed the Professional Award in Digital Transformation – Level Seven.

The program, which was held in a hybrid format, witnessed the participation of 24 employees of the Bank in Bahrain, Kuwait and Egypt, who successfully fulfilled all the requirements of the program.

During the program, participants explored how to assess their organization’s digital transformation needs, gained insights into key transformational technologies, and participated in hands-on exercises to initiate a digital transformation roadmap relevant to their entities. Additionally, the program focused on leveraging digital tools to develop new business concepts and learn about digital transformation trends.

The closing ceremony included a welcoming speech delivered by the Acting Head of the Center for Digital Transformation and Project Management at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Financial Studies, Ms. Maryam Majid, and a speech by the Head of Group Human Resources at Ahli United Bank, Mr. Sunil Zakaria. Furthermore, BIBF expert trainer, Mr. Sidney Wheatley, gave an inspiring session to motivate the participants to embark on their digital transformation journey at AUB.

The Director of the BIBF, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sheikh, and the Head of Talent and Transformation Management at the American University of Beirut, Mr. Ali Al-Marzouq, distributed the certificates to the participants in the program.

On this occasion, Mr. Ali Al-Marzouq said: “Keep up with the transformational and digital orientation of Ahli United Bank, the AUB Professional Award in the Digital Transformation Program is an essential and unique milestone for our employees, in order to improve skills and enhance their level of knowledge and capabilities.”

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sheikh expressed his pride in graduating a respected group of employees at the American University of Beirut, who were able to successfully complete the program requirements. He also praised the bank’s continuous efforts to adapt to the rapid changes in the financial technology sector, which enhances the bank’s ability to serve its customers and puts it at the forefront of industry standards.

Moreover, Mrs. Mariam Majid confirmed that this program is one of the most important programs offered by the Institute due to the increasing demand for technical expertise in financial and economic institutions. To thrive in today’s highly competitive digital economy, employees need digital skills and competencies, as well as the ability to develop solutions that improve workplace efficiency and customer experience.
