BIA ready to welcome influx of F1 visitors

Manama, February 21 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and administrative authority of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has announced the completion of its preparations to receive visitors to the Gulf Air Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix for the year 2023.

An influx of visitors from all over the world will attend the largest global sporting event hosted by Bahrain.

Bahrain International Airport preparations include receiving the teams participating in the race and hundreds of tons of materials and equipment that have been specially shipped for the event, which will be held from March 3-5 at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).

This year marks the fifth time that Bahrain will be the inaugural race of the season since becoming the first country in the Middle East to host the sport in 2004.

All airport preparations were reviewed in a meeting held between Bahrain International Airport and representatives of the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs of the Ministry of Interior, Customs Affairs, Airport Police, Gulf Air, other airlines, Bahrain Hala and Bahrain Airport Services.

“Bahrain Airport Company has planned for the future and coordinated closely with all the partners participating in this event,” said Ali Rashid, Chief Airport Operations Officer.

“The growing popularity of motorsports globally, and the huge turnout for last year’s race, are indicators for us to expect more visitors this year. Accordingly, we have put in place measures to ensure all visitors can enjoy Bahrain’s warm hospitality, a smooth airport trip, and the best possible customer experience at BIA.”
