BIA prepares for biggest fullscale emergency exercise


Muharraq, Feb. 27 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has discussed preparations with its partners for the largest large-scale emergency exercise at the airport to date.

This is the first time that the biennial event, which is being held this year in March, has been held following the launch of operations from the new terminal building.

More than 70 emergency personnel will take part in the exercise, which puts the airport emergency plan to the test, assessing the capabilities, readiness, coordination, communications and effectiveness of emergency and rescue services at Bahrain International Airport.

“This critical exercise will put our contingency plans to the test, revealing their ability to deal with the most stressful and dangerous crisis scenarios. The results will be used to further improve the effectiveness of the airport contingency plan for Bahrain International Airport, in line with Bahraini civil aviation. Chief Airport Operations Ali Rashid said,” International Affairs Regulations and Aviation Standards”.

“Given the size of the new terminal compared to its predecessor, this year’s exercise will be the largest in scale to date, requiring careful coordination among the airport’s key stakeholders. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure that Bahrain International Airport operations, including aircraft and passenger movements, You will not be affected during your routine exercise.”

The meeting included a presentation on the objectives, scope and schedule of the exercise and provided a platform for attendees to ask questions and provide their feedback. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Bahrain International Airport, Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), Gulf Air, Bahrain Aviation Fuel Company, National Guard, Salmaniya Medical Complex, King Hamad University Hospital, Bahrain Defense Force and Bahrain Defense Force Hospital. the Home Office, DHL, Air Traffic Control, and the National Intelligence Agency.

Bahrain Airport Company hosts the training every two years in accordance with the regulations issued by the Bahraini Civil Aviation Affairs and the global industry procedures implemented by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
