Parliamentary elections start in 37 diplomatic missions


Manama, November 8 (BNA) The pre-voting for Bahrainis abroad began today in 37 diplomatic missions designated as polling stations for eligible Bahrainis working or visiting other countries.


Voters can vote for members of the House of Representatives from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, and eligible voters will elect their representatives on Saturday, November 12, and on November 19 in districts where no candidate has a majority.

The results of the polls abroad will be added to the results of the polls in the kingdom to announce the forty members who will make up the House of Representatives, one of the two chambers of the bicameral parliament.

Parliamentary elections held every four years have been held regularly since 2002.

Polling and counting committees are located in the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions in embassies, consulates and permanent missions in the following capitals and cities: Abu Dhabi – Algeria – Amman – Ankara – Baghdad – Bangkok – Beijing – Berlin – Brasilia – Brussels – Cairo – Damascus – Geneva – Islamabad – Jakarta – Jeddah – Karachi – Khartoum – Kuala Lumpur – Kuwait – Laayoune (Morocco) – London – Moscow – Mumbai – Muscat – Najaf – New Delhi – New York – Paris – Rabat – Riyadh – Rome – Tel Aviv – Tokyo – Tunisia.
