Bayern Munich wins record-extending 11th consecutive Bundesliga title

Berlin, May 27 (BNA): Jamal Musiala scored in the 89th minute to lead Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga title with a 2-1 victory in Cologne after Borussia Dortmund drew on the final day of the season.

Dortmund, who led by two points going into the last round, drew 2-2 at home to Mainz on Saturday, allowing Bayern to secure first place due to their better goal difference.

Dortmund needed a win to make sure Bayern’s 10-year reign as champions ended, reports the Associated Press.

It is the third time that Bayern has succeeded in jumping to first place on the last day of the season, after surpassing Werder Bremen in the title in 1986 and Bayer Leverkusen in 2000.
