Bayern and Dortmund get Bundesliga wins without Nagelsmann, Haaland

Berlin, October 23 (BNA): Leaders Bayern Munich and rivals Borussia Dortmund did not deter the absence of coach Julian Nagelsmann and attacking star Erling Haaland respectively, as they each achieved comfortable victories in the German League on Saturday.

Bundesliga players said Serge Gnabry, Robert Lewandowski, Eric Maxim Chubo-Moting and Kingsley Coman scored in Munich’s 4-0 win over Hoffenheim.

Assistant Dino Topmüller was in charge as in the middle of the week with their 4-0 Champions League win over Benfica, while helping Nagelsmann from his home quarantine due to a positive coronavirus test.

The injured Haaland was unable to help Dortmund, who won 3-1 in the second last match against Armenia Bielefeld, as Emre Can took the penalty shootout from the Norwegian before Mats Hummels and Judd Bellingham scored a goal as well.

Nine-times champions Bayern lead the way, one point behind Dortmund.

Surprise team Freiburg came in third place after beating Wolfsburg 2-0, to remain the only team unbeaten in the league. RB Leipzig scored a massive 4-1 victory over bottom line Greuther Fuerth.
