BAS starts second phase of the Air Cargo Facility Renovation

Manama, March 14 (BNA): The Bahrain Airport Service (BAS) cooperated with the Customs Affairs of the Ministry of Interior at Bahrain International Airport, to implement a project to renovate the customs clearance services center, with the aim of providing a unique and distinguished customer. expertise.

The project comes within the efforts exerted to provide the best solutions to enhance customer experience, inform them of the system of services provided to customs visitors to the air cargo facility, and contribute to successful customs practices in this field.

The center includes eight platforms that provide all customs clearance operations for visitors, in addition to administrative facilities and common services for some relevant government agencies, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture, and the Supreme Council for Customs Clearance. Environment, National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), with a capacity of 500 square metres.

The center also provides all customs clearance services, allowing visitors to start their transactions through the e-government portal and complete them at customs.

Among the most important of these services is the preparation of customs declarations for import and export, payment of customs duties, and inspection and verification of goods.

Nabil Khalid Kanoo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BAS, “We have undertaken this project to create a distinctive customer experience that represents the cooperation between BAS and Customs Affairs at Bahrain International Airport, and to solidify the position to meet current requirements and be in line with our future goals.” He said.

BAS aims to provide first-class products and services through this initiative that supports the implementation of efficient shipping and clearance procedures.

Colonel Rashid Al-Baker of Customs Affairs expressed his gratitude for the successful cooperation between Customs Affairs and Bahrain Airport Services Company BAS in renovating the customs clearance services center.

He also stressed that the project to modernize the center is in line with the objectives of the wise leadership to establish customs service centers in the Kingdom and the vision of the Ministry of Interior to increase the operational effectiveness of customer service platforms by simplifying operations.

BAS completed the project to modernize the refrigeration units at the air cargo facility last month, in implementation of the customs cooperation agreement between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

It included adding specialized refrigeration units, expanding the storage of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, and enhancing the capabilities of the facility to become an approved option for the passage of goods between the two countries.
