New York, March 9 (BNA): The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al-Rowaie, participated in the high-level open debate of the Security Council on women, peace and security. held on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The open session was chaired by the Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, Maryam bint Mohammed Al Muhairi.

The ambassador renewed the Kingdom’s support for all international efforts to advance women, ensure gender balance in all development and humanitarian fields, and enhance women’s contribution as an active partner in security and peace at all levels. He stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, places at the forefront of its national priorities maintaining the highest levels of social security in a way that supports women’s participation in all fields. . He stressed that the government, headed by His Royal Highness, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is making every effort to present the projects, programs and plans necessary to involve women in the Kingdom’s comprehensive development process. .

The ambassador pointed out that through the participation and cooperation of various relevant government and private agencies, with the support and follow-up of the Supreme Council for Women headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, consort of His Highness.
