Bahrain’s NIHR, Russia’s Commissioner for Human Rights sign cooperation protocol

Manama, November 13 (BNA) The National Institution for Human Rights and the Institution of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation signed a cooperation protocol.

The protocol, signed by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the National Institution for Human Rights Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi and the High Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation, Professor Tatiana Moskalkova, aims to provide a framework for bilateral cooperation on issues of common interest, through the exchange of legal expertise, participation in international meetings related to human rights and a review of the experiences of the two institutions protection and promotion of women’s rights.

The protocol is based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two sides in Russia earlier this year.

The head of the National Institution for Human Rights, Al-Derazi, indicated that the two sides will enhance their cooperation in areas of common interest, especially in capacity building in the field of human rights, in accordance with international standards.
